Mark Stevenson brought his passion and energy to Meaning 2017 as our guest director and host. In these his opening remarks he sets out his hopes for a day full of conviction, optimism, purpose and connection.
Mark has an excited mind focussed firmly on the future. He incessantly hunts for ideas, movements and trends, charting the territory of the future and preparing us for the way we may live and work tomorrow.
Mark’s books – ‘An Optimist’s Guide to the Future’ and ‘We Do Things Differently’ – identify the people, the organisations, the technologies and the issues that we all need to know about if we want to equip ourselves for our uncertain world.
Since his talk at Meaning 2014, we’ve fallen in love with Mark and his uncompromising approach – reaching into the future, grasping ideas with both hands and forcing us to confront them.
